Curved Ridge, Buachaille Etive Mor...

It was very warm this morning on the west coast with rain showers quickly developing after dawn.  Dave and I were keen for a longer mountaineering route so decided to head to 'Curved Ridge' II,3 on Buachaille Etive Mor.

We were quick out of the blocks again this morning, but there was already a team making their way up to North Buttress by headtorch.  We had Curved Ridge to ourselves, enjoying a very alpine ascent alternating between bare rock and snow slopes.  Despite the lack of snow in the photograph above, plenty remains in the north facing corries and a refreeze will turn everything to neve.

Joel and Tobias climbed Ledge Route independently yesterday and had a great day despite the burly conditions.

    Hi James
That was us heading for NB but there was nothing on it at all that we could see from the walk in and the foot of it.
We headed for NE Zig-zags and bailed after a wet and deteriorating (in front of our eyes) condition on first pitch. Followed you up CR and had a nice if wet day.
    What happened to winter.....
    Cheers
