Single Pitch Award Training..

Rob, Adam, Louise, Nicky, and Chris along with Daryl and myself have visited a number of venues over the weekend as part of a Single Pitch Award Training Course (SPA) run by Acclimbatize.

This qualification is for those who wish to supervise a group on single pitch crags and climbing walls either professionally or in a voluntary capacity. For full details visit Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE)

During Saturday we visited both Harborough Rocks and Black Rocks close to Cromford, allowing us to look at all aspects of personal climbing despite the heavy rain experienced during the day.

Sunday, saw us visit the Wirksworth climbing wall before moving to Birchen Edge to look at the technical and soft skills required to supervise climbing at a single pitch venue.

The weather continues to be changeable with heavy but isolated showers. Between these showers the climbing was very good, with a number of other teams at the same crag. Unfortunately, it looks like this unstable weather is set to continue, with most forecasts suggesting heavy showers for the week ahead..
